वरीयान् एष ते प्रश्नः कृतो लोकहितं नृप ।
आत्मवित् सम्मतः पुंसां श्रोतव्यादिषु यः परः ॥ १ ॥
श्रीशुकदेवजीने कहा- परीक्षित्! तुम्हारा लोकहितके लिये किया हुआ यह प्रश्न बहुत ही उत्तम है। मनुष्योंके लिये जितनी भी बातें सुनने, स्मरण करने या कीर्तन करनेकी हैं, उन सबमें यह श्रेष्ठ है। आत्मज्ञानी महापुरुष ऐसे प्रश्नका बड़ा आदर करते हैं ||१||
Shri Shukadevji said, “Parikshit! The question you’ve asked, with the aim of serving the welfare of all beings, is truly excellent. Among all things that humans should listen to, remember, or chant, this is the best of them all. Those who have attained self-knowledge hold such questions in great esteem.” ||1||
