About श्री हनुमान जी की आरती (Aarti Kije Hanuman Lala Ki)
“आरती कीजै हनुमान लला की” is the most universally sung aarti of Lord Hanuman in the Hindu tradition. The word Lala — meaning beloved child — reflects the intimate, affectionate relationship between devotees and Hanuman Ji. Despite his enormous power and cosmic stature, Hanuman remains accessible and approachable — the beloved child of Mother Anjana and the eternal servant of Lord Ram.
Composer & Origin
This aarti is attributed to Goswami Tulsidas, the great saint-poet who composed it in the 15th–16th century — the same era as the Hanuman Chalisa and the Ramcharitmanas. It is written in simple, musical Hindi making it easy for devotees of all ages to memorise and recite.

This aarti has been rendered by virtually every major devotional artist in India. The most celebrated version is by Gulshan Kumar and Hariharan from the iconic Shree Hanuman Chalisa album by T-Series Bhakti Sagar — one of the best-selling devotional albums in India. Other notable renditions include those by Lata Mangeshkar, Anuradha Paudwal, Shankar Mahadevan and Udit Narayan.
Deity
Lord Hanuman — addressed lovingly as Hanuman Lala (the beloved child Hanuman) throughout this aarti. He is the son of Anjana Mata and the Wind God Vayu, the mightiest devotee of Lord Shri Ram, and the destroyer of all evil forces (Dushta Dalan).
Verse by Verse Significance
Each verse of this aarti praises a different aspect of Hanuman Ji’s glory:
Verse 1 — “जाके बल से गिरवर काँपे, रोग-दोष जाके निकट न झाँके”
Mountains tremble at his strength; disease and defects dare not come near him. This verse invokes Hanuman’s physical and spiritual might.
Verse 2 — “अंजनि पुत्र महा बलदाई, संतन के प्रभु सदा सहाई”
Son of Anjana, giver of great strength, always the protector and support of saints and devotees.
Verse 3 — “दे वीरा रघुनाथ पठाए, लंका जारि सिया सुधि लाये”
Sent by Lord Ram as his brave messenger, Hanuman crossed the ocean, burned Lanka and brought news of Mata Sita.
Verse 4 — “लंका जारि असुर संहारे, सियाराम जी के काज सँवारे”
He burned Lanka, destroyed the demons and fulfilled every task of Lord Ram and Mata Sita.
Verse 5 — “लक्ष्मण मूर्छित पड़े सकारे, लाये संजीवन प्राण उबारे”
When Lakshman fell unconscious, Hanuman brought the Sanjeevani herb and saved his life.
Verse 6 — “पैठि पताल तोरि जमकारे, अहिरावण की भुजा उखारे”
He descended into the underworld, defeated the serpent-demon Ahiravana and saved Lord Ram.
Verse 7 — “सुर-नर-मुनि जन आरती उतारें, जय जय जय हनुमान उचारें”
Gods, humans and sages all perform this aarti, chanting Jai Jai Jai Hanuman together.
Final Verse — “जो हनुमानजी की आरती गावे, बसहिं बैकुंठ परम पद पावे”
Whoever sings this aarti of Hanuman Ji attains the supreme abode — Vaikuntha — and liberation.

Correct Method (Puja Vidhi)
1. Light a diya with mustard oil (sarson ka tel)
2. Offer red flowers — hibiscus or marigold
3. Light dhoop or agarbatti
4. Ring a bell (ghanti) while singing
5. Move the aarti thali in a circular clockwise motion
6. Sing with full devotion — the entire family joining together
7. Conclude by taking the aarti thali to all present for blessing
